Roger Hadgraft has invited us to try out a changed format for our December meeting, starting out in a meeting room at the Uni before adjourning to The Corkman for dinner.

The plan is to have at least a couple of short presentations on projects in progress followed by some discussion of where we might take Melbourne Emergence into the future.

As things stand, Bill Hall will not be able to be there, so it would be really good if somebody else from the Organisation Knowledge Management team could put together an update on your activities.

I rolled some arguably overly optimistic dice last evening and they came up double sixes, so I'm hoping to share the briefest outline of that grand plan as well as an update on recently achieved data collection milestones for my current cellular automata project, already 13 months in.

Anybody else with anything else they would like to report is encouraged to do so. With the Fourth Australian Conference on Artificial Life on at the Uni during the week before our meeting, we might be able to stir up a bit wider interest.

We welcome anyone who wants to present a personal project or problematic for feedback, failing which we enjoy agenda-free discussion which has a habit of establishing productive new connections.
